Changing The Baby

A Dry Baby Is A Happy Baby

Long before the arrival of your new-born baby, there are countless steps of preparation for the wondrous day.  Thankfully there are some really terrific items to help you get ready.  And, with an emphasis on the user-friendly and family-friendly, the practical and the beautiful can be purchased not only for the home, but for the public venue as well.

For the parent on the go, the changing bag is indispensible.  Multiple compartments and easy to wash, the baby changing bag comes in a number of designs from a OiOi designer bag to the most basic black masculine bag for dad.

When you are out and about, thankfully many public buildings now cater to the family.  Koala changing stations or baby changing units can be found in department stores, grocery stores, fitness centers and a variety of other places.  A baby changing station for the home can be practical as well.  Check out products by Rubbermaid if you want something for the residence.

Other practical items for the home are baby changing tables.  Instead of using the bed or floor for the quick change, the changing table comes in handy.  Don’t forget to keep all your changing needs – diapers, wipes, ointment, powder, etc – at your fingertips to facilitate the changes.

For the home and nursery, take a look at additional baby changing furniture to make your life easier and to save your back from unnecessary bending.  A changing table dresser is a great combination item for any baby’s room.  These are great for storage of all your baby’s needs and for extra sheets, blankets, clothes and more.  DaVinci and Sorelle, among others, make some truly attractive baby furniture.

Speaking of furniture, you will certainly want a baby crib for your little one.  A designer crib can transform your nursery into a show place.  But plenty of more practical options exist too.  Consider a portable crib that will allow you the flexibility of taking your crib from room to room.  A long-term solution to your baby’s sleeping needs is a convertible crib that can later accommodate the toddler as it is adapted to a toddler bed.  Think about getting a bassinet for the special flourish during the early months.

The changing table pad and changing pad covers are important items as well.  Make sure you get items that are machine washable to overcome the accidents that are bound to happen.

The list of items goes on and on, but these are some of the more common ones to help on your journey.  Do plenty of comparison shopping.  Do it ahead of time.  Get the nursery ready in advance so that you can minimize the unplanned purchases.

For a new Dad, the best thing we have got is a baby changing table. It' just way more convenient and quick to have everything in one place and to know Jack is safe while I am changing him. New Dads, give one a try.

What is the most reliable baby furniture out there... safety, durability, convenience, look, etc? I read the consumer reports, but I would rather know what real people think. So, what do you think?
